AIZAWL, July 10 - Mizoram Assembly on Thursday unanimously passed �Mizoram Entry Tax Bill, 2015� introduced by State Taxation Minister Lalsawta.
The bill sought to levy entry tax on 45 items and the government is expected to collect additional revenue of Rs 300 lakh annually when the Act is enforced.
Mizoram Infrastructure Development Fund would be created into which the proceeds of the entry tax would be credited, Lalsawta said adding that the fund would be utilised exclusively for development of infrastructure.
Later, the three-day Monsoon session of the Mizoram Assembly which commenced on Tuesday, was adjourned sine die by the Assembly Speaker Hiphei on Thursday. � PTI
