Mizee�s debut Hindi music album released

DIBRUGARH, Nov 9 � A music album �Bohnimaan� the Folk flows�, which is a debut Hindi album by Geetashree Rajkhowa and a collaborative effort of some talented Assamese music composers and programmers staying in Mumbai was released today by noted writer and former president of Asam Sahitya Sabha, Dr Nagen Saikia at Natya Mandir in Amollapatty here.

Produced by India�s top music label �Times Music�, the songs in the album are sung by Geetashree, popularly known as Mizee. The album has eight Assamese folk songs written in Hindi, in which the compositions are purely traditional. The album �Bohnimaan� comprises of Goalpariya Loko Geet, Kamrupiya Loko Geet, Zhumur, Zikir, Dehbisar, Nisumoni Geet and Borgeet. The effort is to bring indigenous Assamese folk music into global audiences, according to Mizee.

Dr Nagen Saikia while releasing the music album appreciated the effort of Mizee and said that music, over the years has been touching and influencing people�s lives. Renowned radio artist Syed Sadullah also addressed the gathering during the release of the music album.

The project has been conceptualized and music designed and recorded by popular musician, composer and programmer, Dony Hazarika. The lyrics to the songs were penned by Virat Basoya, Vayu Shrivastav, Shaheen Iqbal and Imdad Sahil. The music has been programmed by Dony Hazarika, Anurag Saikia, Ambar Das, Projjwal Dutta, Mrinmoy Sharma and Nilotpal Bora. The video of the song �Sakhi Re� has been directed by Rishi Paullah and Bitopan Kashyap. The editing has been done by Proteem Khaond.
