Missing scribes Issue taken up with Myanmar: PC

By Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Dec 13 The mystery over the whereabouts of traceless scribes continues with Home Minister, P Chidambaram informing that the issue has been taken up at the highest level with the Myanmar Government.

A State BJP delegation led by Ramen Deka called on the Union Home Minister this morning to apprise the Central leader. Later, a delegation of journalists also met Chidambaram at the Parliament House to request him to take up the case of Rajeev Bhattacharya and Pradip Gogoi.

Deka, meanwhile, told newsmen that Chidambaram said that the Home Ministry was on the job of tracking the duo since the last 10 days. He conveyed that the matter of the missing scribes was taken up with the President of Myanmar.

However, he added that the Centre was clueless over the whereabouts of the two journalists. He mentioned that the Army has been also alerted and currently on their lookout.

The neighbouring country has denied any knowledge about the duo, he reportedly told Deka.
