Mising Agom Kebang session at Dhemaji from today

DHEMAJI, Jan 29 � The 21st Mising Agom Kebang (Mising Sahitya Sabha) will be held at Dimbeswar Doley Kshetra, Kulapathar in Dhemaji town from tomorrow with a four-day programme.

The session will begin tomorrow with the last executive meeting of the central body of the literary organisation at 10 am.

On January 31, the flag will be unfurled by Dr Bidyeswar Doley, president, Mising Agom Kebang. This will be followed by smriti tarpan, to be initiated by Dr Ghana Kanta Lagasu, former president Mising Agom Kebang.

On February 1, a cultural procession will be flagged of by Moinul Islam Mandal, SP Dhemaji. The first open session will be held at 12 noon under the presidentship of Bidyeswar Doley. Tam Mirang, VC of Rajiv Gandhi University Arunachal, will inaugurate the meeting. Noted writer Reeta Choudhury will be the appointed speaker. Prof Tabu Taid and Nahendra Padun will be the distinguished guests. Imran Shah, president Asam Sahitya Sabha and K Borang, advisor Adi Agom Kebang, will attend the session as guests of honour.

On the concluding day, the second open session will be held at 11 am. It will be inaugurated by former MLA Bhuban Pegu. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will be present as the chief guest.
