Mishra exhorts NCC cadets to imbibe leadership quality

ITANAGAR, Jan 10 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) while addressing the cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the �Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat� camp at Tezpur University on Thursday exhorted them to imbibe leadership instinct to serve the nation, develop sublime personality traits and join the Indian Armed Forces.

NCC is a very important institution, which has been instilling nationalism, patriotism and the spirit of �Nation First� amongst the young students, he said.

Recalling his first NCC camp of 1955, in which he received the best social service award, the Governor said that it was the beginning of his life of punctuality and discipline.

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also a NCC cadet, the Governor advised them to follow the guiding principle of their organisation to rise in life. NCC cadets must personify the motto of NCC, which is �Unity and Discipline�, he said.

Among others, Additional Director General, NCC North Eastern Region, Major General Raju Chauhan, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Tezpur Brig KS Rao, Deputy Group Commander Col RB Patil and Pro Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University Prof Dilip Kumar Saikia were present on the occasion.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) camp aims to provide opportunity to understand the cultural diversity, history, flora and fauna and its people. It also aims to create awareness amongst the cadets regarding diverse cultural heritage of the country. The camp, being organised from January 1 to 12, has 600 cadets including 100 cadets from Uttar Pradesh, and the rest from all eight Northeastern States.
