Mishap on road triggers havoc

SILAPATHAR, Jan 28 - Tense situation prevailed at Silapathar town following a road accident on the Silapathar town main road near Gandhi Nagar on Saturday night.

A group of local people created havoc on the road in protest against the frequent accidents in the area and the CRPF and police personnel had to be pitched in to control the situation.

The traders� association also kept their shutters down in Silapathar town area from 9 am to 12 am in protest against the accidents in the town.

Bablu Singh (35), a proprietor of a hotel, was killed on the spot when a bus hit him. Bablu Singh, son of Nanda Kishor Singh, an inhabitant of Silapathar Natun Mising village, leaves behind two sons and his wife. He was on his way to Silapathar Donyi Polo Cultural Complex by a bicycle when the mishap occurred.
