Miscreants damage Govt school in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, March 27 - Unidentified miscreants entered the premises of a Government-run higher secondary school at Chongkham in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh in the wee hours of Saturday and vandalised its properties and ransacked the vice-principal�s office, besides trying to set ablaze the school building.

This was the third failed attempt by miscreants to destroy the school � previously tried on March 20 and 23 last, informed sources said.

The miscreants damaged the white blackboard of many classrooms as well as the UPS system of school computer sets and ransacked the vice-principal�s room and teachers� common room. Excepting some sports kits, there was no report of any major theft of computer sets or any other school properties.

Confirming the early morning incident of miscreants damaging the school properties and ransacking the vice principal�s room and teachers� room, the principal of Chongkham Govt Higher Secondary School Ganpang Megu said, �We are left in shambles by the incident, the cause of which was not known to us. We are working tirelessly to improve the education scenario of our place but amid such scandalous acts by the miscreants, how one can be able to improve the school service,� he questioned.
