DIBRUGARH, Aug 30 - Namrata Sharma, a minor girl of Sassoni Amguri and a student of St Mary�s School, Naharkatia, reportedly committed suicide by jumping into the Burhi Dehing river from Gabhoru Dolong while returning home from school on Tuesday evening.
The Naharkatia Circle Officer, Bikram Chetri, along with a police team, rushed to the spot and ordered a search operation. �The SDRF personnel conducted the search operation the whole day. But the body of the girl could not be traced,� the Circle Officer told The Assam Tribune.
It is learned that the minor girl was reprimanded by the school authorities for her objectionable behaviour in the school. She was a student of Class VII. The police are investigating the case.
