ITANAGAR, Dec 16 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa on Tuesday alleged that some ministers who called on him to request him to withdraw the order advancing the Winter session of the State Assembly used �unparliamentary languages.�
�They used unparliamentary words and gestured in an animated and threatening manner against the Governor when they, along with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, met him,� a Raj Bhawan communique said.
The Governor said they have legal option to challenge his order.
The Governor claimed that he had issued the order on December 9 advancing the Winter session from January 14 to December 16 as per laid down provisions of the Constitution and the law and in exercising powers conferred on him under Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India. Legal experts were also consulted, the Governor claimed.
However, not willing to listen to him, the ministers questioned his authority and judgement, he said.
�Some of the ministers got very agitated and led by Education Minister Tapang Taloh, used unparliamentary words and gestured in very animated and threatening manner before leaving the Raj Bhavan,� the statement said.
They also virtually �threatened� to disturb the Assembly session, it claimed adding the Governor expressed extreme disappointment at the behaviour of the ministers, particularly when the Chief Minister himself had sought the appointment for official deliberation. � PTI
