Minister�s convoy meets with accident

SHILLONG, Sept 13 - The convoy of Meghalaya Power Minister James Sangma today met with an accident in Assam�s Nagaon district. Four police constables were injured in the mishap.

The minister was on his way back to Shillong from Imphal where he was tested positive for COVID-19 through a Rapid Antigen Test at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport on Saturday.

Assistant Inspector General of Police GK Iangrai said the information was received at 4.55 this morning that the convoy of the power minister had met with an accident. �Immediately a police team was sent to the place of occurrence,� AIG said.

It was found that the pilot vehicle of the convoy capsized and the vehicle of the minister was also damaged. �Four police personnel who were in the pilot vehicle were immediately sent to the Nagaon Civil Hospital,� Iangrai said.
