Minister reviews works of Brahmaputra Board

GUWAHATI, July 4 - Union Minister of State for Water Resources Arjun Ram Meghwal today stressed the need for making the Brahmaputra Board more efficient, converting all threats into opportunities and minimizing all weaknesses.

The minister said this while interacting with the officials of the Brahmaputra Board following a meeting here to review the activities and works undertaken by the Board.

He said the Board should accept its weaknesses if there is any and always try to minimise them. �Any threat coming on its way needs to be converted into opportunities,� he said.

�Flood control is Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s one of the major priority areas. Water management is the priority of the Northeast as well as the Central government. This should be taken as an opportunity to work for development of the country,� he said.

The minister also assured to fill up the vacant posts in the Board soon.
