HAFLONG, June 9 - The Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa distributed 70 sets of mini solar sets among the villagers of Samparidisa ceremonially in presence of chairperson Ranu Langthasa, EM Debojit Bathari, EM Samuel Changsan and the gaonburah along with the villagers on Tuesday.
It is learnt that on September 25, 2016, after the Bendao Baiglai trekking event, a public meeting was held at Samparidisa village community hall in the presence of the gaonburah of Samparidisa village, Haflong Forest Range Officer, members of Spectrum (NGO) and the villagers, Devojit Bathari, EM Social Welfare, NCHAC launched his maiden Rural Household Mini Solar Electrification (RHMSE) project for Samparidisa village. The (RHMSE) project was to provide Mini Solar sets each to all the 70 households of the village since Samparidisa village though being situated only 15 kilometres from the district HQ, it had not been provided with electricity connection by the power dept/company.
It was assured by the EM Bathari that the (RHMSE) project would help to bridge this gap, thus helping the community while inaugurating the Samparidisa Eco-tourism Committee under Spectrum CBETI project to manage the tourism activity in Samparidisa village area.
Speaking on the occasion, CEM Gorlosa said he was delighted to see the happy faces at the Solar Light Distribution Programme to all the households of Samparidisa village of Hadingma constituency along with NCHAC�s chairperson Ranu Langthasa, EM Debojit Bathari, EM Samuel Changsan. CEM Gorlosa also declared in the solar set distribution programme that he would provide 4-5 ponies/mules through the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Dept to Samparidisa village for the tourist visiting Bendao Baiglai waterfalls and could hitch a ride on the back of pony/mule, once the animals are available to the village tourism committee. Further, the CEM assured that their dream will be fulfilled soon as the project for electrification is under process.
