Militants� arms recovered

SHILLONG, April 26 - Meghalaya Police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to the United People�s Revolutionary Alliance in Khalu-Rongcheng area along the West Khasi Hills-South Garo Hills border today. The dumped cache was discovered during the ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Garo Hills, police officials said here. Acting on a tip-off, a commando team from Shallang Police Station in West Khasi Hills launched a counter-insurgency operation early this morning and recovered the arms and ammunition. The confiscated items included an SLR rifle, three .303 sniper rifles, an AK magazine, two SLR magazines, two .303 magazines, three Chinese grenades, seven VHF radio sets, 50 AK bullets, 134 bullets of SLR, 23 rounds of .303 ammo and other incriminating documents.
