By The Assam Tribune

SHILLONG, March 2 - The former camp of ANVC (B) at Eden Bari is being transformed into a modern traditional village which will be known as Eden and to be used for organising programmes and celebrations.

Bernard N Marak, who is also the former chairman of the disbanded ANVC (B) said, Eden will present traditional food and drinks along with music. Former cadres of the outfit and villagers are working to build the place with limited resources as no support came from the Government, he added.

In the long run, we are planning to organise various programmes on special occasions with focus on traditional food, drinks and music, Marak said while adding, Eden will be a fusion of tradition with modernised facilities.

Many more facilities will be added in time which will include picnic spots, park, natural pools, childrens play ground, special plots for reserved parties. The place will also have a drive in theatre facility.

Cottages will be available for families and groups with traditional food like kappa, gran, nakam and such. The place will also be available for marriages, birthday parties and celebration of special occasions. We also plan to promote sports, adventure, cycling and music in Eden, Marak informed. Newmai News
