AIZAWL, March 9 - Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl, Mizoram�s apex women body has been awarded with Nari Shakti Puraskar for its contribution towards women empowerment.
MHIP president Lalthlamuani received the award from President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of International Women�s Day at New Delhi on Wednesday. Instituted in 1999, Nari Shakti Puraskar given by Union Ministry of Women and Child Development confers awards to individuals and institutions on the occasion of International Women�s Day every year.
MHIP which was established in 1974, is working for upliftment of women and children.
