GORESWAR, Dec 6 - MGNREGA job card holders who had worked in schemes like road construction work and public pond digging work under the Goreswar Block Development Office in 2014-2015 have alleged that they have not got their due daily wages till date despite completion their work, due to various irregularities at the office of Goreswar Block Development office located at Goreswar in Baksa district.
According to official norms, the concerned job card holder beneficiaries are to be paid their daily wages weekly /fortnightly against their concerned bank account but the concerned authorities as well as the BDO, Goreswar Block Development have not taken any steps in this regard till date.
According to sources, the Gurmow VCDC chairman along with his concerned supervisor had started two government sponsored schemes (i) road construction work and (ii) public pond digging work under the Goreswar Block Development office in 2014-2015 and the work was completed in the stipulated year, yet the job card holders have not received their due wages till now allegedly due to irregularities.
It may be noted that the each scheme had Rs 5 lakh earmarked against it. Though Rs 2 lakh was to be released to the workers, however, only Rs 1 lakh was released later for payment. However, the entire amount of the schemes ie., Rs 5 lakh each is shown as spent on the signboard of the scheme clearly indicating that the scheme is completed and Rs 5 lakh spent, which is not true.
Hence, the poor job card holders under the said block development office have urged the BTC Government to redress the problems of the wage employees under the Goreswar Block Development Office.
