MORIGAON, Jan 21 � Meghalaya trounced Tripura 3-0 in the group B league match of the North East Zone Santosh Trophy Tournament at the Khirod Baruah Stadium here today.
After a dry first session, Fullmoon drew first blood in the 46th minute with a solo effort. Edormi Buam enhanced the margin in the 55th minute anticipating a pass from Samson from the right flank.
Samson again set the ball for Bickyson from the left flank and the latter made no mistake in converting it to goal. In a crucial group A match tomorrow, Assam will play against Manipur. If the host team can win or draw the match then they will qualify for the next round to be held at Jharkhand. But for Manipur it is a must-win situation.
In the other match tomorrow, Nagaland will play against Arunachal Pradesh.
