SHILLONG, Dec 12 (PTI): Meghalaya Police drew with Nigerian XI 1-1 in the quarterfinal league match of the 22nd All India Meghalaya Invitation football tournament held at the Polo Ground here today. Meghalaya Police were under pressure from the Nigerians throughout the match. They got few opportunities but capitalised on one of them they had to end the game at 1-1.
The local side�s forward Kitkupar Khashiiing grabbed the opportunity and headed the ball home in the 10th minute to take a 1-0 lead at the lemon break. The game witnessed many opportunities for the Nigerians but they could not convert them due to some fine saves by Meghalaya Police goalkeeper Allwyn Patwet.
Striker Alhassan Bala scored the equaliser for the Nigerian side in the 85th minute to end the game at 1-1 draw.
