SHILLONG, April 11 - Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today informed the Assembly that Meghalaya police is coordinating with Delhi police in the investigation into the death of a woman from Ri-Bhoi district whose decomposed body was found in her apartment at Munirka, New Delhi last month.
Replying to a Zero Hour notice moved by Opposition Member from Congress Mayralborn Syiem, the Chief Minister said, after the report of the death was received on March 28, a police official from Ri-Bhoi district accompanied the family of the deceased to New Delhi the next day.
Sangma said since the body was in a decomposed state the last rites of the deceased was performed in New Delhi. He said, after the body was found in the apartment in Munirka, a case has been registered at Vasant Vihar police station and the Delhi police are investigating the matter.
�The Meghalaya police are constantly in touch with its Delhi counterpart and all possible help would be extended by Meghalaya police in solving the case,� Sangma informed the Assembly.
Moving the notice, Syiem urged the State Government to ensure the safety of youths who migrate to other States for jobs, education and other works.
