SHILLONG, Nov 26 - The foundation stone of the Alternative Disputes Resolution Centre (ADR) of Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) was laid by Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court Justice Uma Nath Singh yesterday.

The Chief Justice laid the foundation stone at Mawdiandiang here in the presence of Justice TNK Singh who is also the Executive Chairman of Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and Justice SR Sen.

The ADR operates on the principle of consensus, where all perspectives are discussed until a compromise that is acceptable to all sides is reached. The Alternative Disputes Resolution mechanism is a pragmatic tool in solving new generation familial conflicts like divorce, maintenance, alimony, child custody, etc.
