GUWAHATI, Aug 19 - The first study circle meet on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was organised yesterday by the newly elected executive committee of the Tax Bar Association of Guwahati in presence of its president Jeevan Chand Kankaria.
Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Jain, member of the Association, deliberated on the rules and laws of GST.
Jain explained the way to fill-up the various forms and also highlighted the practical problems that could be faced by the dealers in dealing with the GST.
In the interactive session, the dealers as well as the practitioners exchanged their views on how to show tax on reverse charge mechanism, besides the exempted items.
ML Gope, member of the committee, said though GST is a good and simple tax, it will take some time for all of us to get accustomed to it.
�Our government has been working on it for sometime but the GST portal is not fully working and therefore, its proper implementation will take some time. We all need to be patient to see a full-fledged GST regime in place,� she said.
