GUWAHATI, April 25 - A meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) here today to discuss issues related to the forthcoming elections to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). The meeting was chaired by State Election Commissioner HN Bora.
Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Virendra Mittal, Election Officer of Kamrup (Metro) Chinmoy Prakash Phookan and registration officers employed for the 31 wards of GMC took part in the meeting. Bora emphasised the need for preparation and publication of a correct voter list for the elections. It is worth mentioning that the draft electoral roll for the GMC polls will published on May 5.
The last date for receiving claims and objections is May 14, while the last date for disposal of claims and objections is May 22. The final electoral roll will be published on May 31.
