GUWAHATI, April 6 - In view of the forthcoming polls to the four Legislative Assembly Constituencies located in the city, the Kamrup Metro district administration today held a meeting with the officials of Meghalaya�s Ri Bhoi district at the Assam Administrative Staff College here.
The meeting discussed various issues including efforts to ensure a peaceful polling, coordinated effort to streamline and strengthen various security apparatus within the border area between Assam and Meghalaya, facilitating the movement of polling personnel and other security personnel, logistics and other support system and strict enforcement of excise regulations.
The meeting was chaired by Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro. Those who attended the meeting included Dr Puja Pandey, Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi; Rajendra Nath Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner of East Kamrup and Rajiv Prakash Barua, Deputy Commissioner of South Kamrup, besides senior civic and police officials of all these districts from both states.
