By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, Aug 28 - A general meeting of the Barak Upatyaka Sanskrit Tol Sikshak Sangsthanam (BUSTSS) was held under the presidentship of adviser Jugendra Kumar Singha at the RA Memorial High School at Rajnagar on August 27, a press release received here stated.

The meeting discussed the issues concerning provincialisation of Sankrit tols, recruitment of teachers by the Government in Barak Valley as well as entire Assam along with the need to amend the Provincialisation Act of 01-01-2006 and providing necessary financial assistance to the tols.

The meet felt that the Sanskrit tols should be provincialised before amalgamating the Sanskrit Board with the Kumar Bhaskar University in Nalbari district. It was also observed by the participants that maintaining regular communication of these tols with the university would be a big problem.

The meeting further decided to stage a dharna at Silchar and to submit a memorandum at the Deputy Commissioners office on August 30 along with a fast for indefinite period at Dispur Last Gate on September 4.

Earlier, Hitesh Barman, Publicity Secretary, Central Committee, All Assam Sanskrit Tol Shiksha Samittee, Bapuram Kalita, Adviser of All Assam Sanskrit Tol Shiksha Samittee, Animul Haque Laskar, Headmaster of RA Memorial High School were felicitated. Among others, Nibash Das, Jasoda Rani Singha, Rajib Rajkumar, Moloy Mukherjee, Subendu Chakraborty and Lakhikanta Singha spoke on the occasion.
