Meet held to review dengue treatment

GUWAHATI, Sept 20 - Following the flare-up in the number of dengue cases in the city during recent days, a meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner�s office here yesterday to review the situation and discuss ways to prevent cases of dengue and provide proper treatment to the patients.

The meeting was chaired by F Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, and was attended by senior officials from the district administration, Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Health Department.

During the meeting, instructions were issued to the Health Department to deploy Mobile Medical Units in the localities of Guwahati where dengue cases have been reported during recent days.

Multi-Purpose Workers were directed to visit the localities for a house-to-house assessment of the situation.

GMC was told to intensify fogging in the affected localities and nearby areas and the Health Department officials were directed to coordinate fogging operations with the municipal body.

All the health workers have been directed to remain at their stations during the weekends for convenience of the general public.

The meeting was held as a follow-up to a similar meeting held at the office of the National Health Mission Directorate here on September 18, attended by officials from the Mission, senior district administration officials, the Health Department and the GMC Commissioner to discuss ways to prevent incidences of dengue and to work on a war-footing to prevent further instances of dengue.
