DOOMDOOMA, Dec 8 � On the occasion of the adyashradha of veteran journalist, former principal of Doomdooma College, ex-president of Tinsukia District Sahitya Sabha (TDSS), literary pensioner and actor Robin Chaudhury, the Doomdooma Sakha Sahitya Sabha (DSSS), in collaboration with TDSS, organised a �Smriticharan Sabha� at the DSSS Bhawan. More than 200 people from Doomdooma, Tinsukia, Digboi, Kakopathar, Talap, Saikhowaghat, Bordubi, Dibrugarh and Guwahati participated in the meeting.

At the outset of the meeting held under the presidentship of DSSS president Ajit Kumar Baruah, former TDSS president Bhabani Changkakati garlanded the portrait of late Robin Chaudhury and lit an earthen lamp. The meeting was initiated with a �Borgeet� performed by Madhab Bora.

In the meeting, the newly elected secretary of Asam Sahitya Sabha Prahlad Chandra Tassa, TDSS president Joykanta Gandhiya, former TDSS presidents Punnya Saikia and Bhabani Changkakati, president of Tinsukia District Journalists� Association Amulya Khatoniar, president of Assam College Teachers� Association Rana Changmai, principal of Prafulla Medhi and Beena Deka, poet Ujjal Saikia, writers Dwijen Kakoty, Srikumar Dohutia, Prabin Borah, ex-secretaries of Choudhury�s daughter Malashi Choudhury Baruah and several others recalled various aspects of Robin Chaudhury�s life, work and personality.

Earlier, TDSS secretary Sarad Chandra Chhingphukan narrated a short life-sketch of late Chaudhury.
