GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - The 50th State Geological Programming Board Meeting was held at NIRD & PR-NERC, Jawahar Nagar, recently.
The meeting was chaired by RT Jindal, State Additional Chief Secretary Mines & Minerals Department and Dipti Das, Director Geology & Mining, a delayed press release said.
Delegations from various organisations like ONGC Ltd., OIL, Geological Survey of India- Assam unit, Central Ground Water Board, Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, Indian Bureau of Mines, Coal India Limited, etc., participated in the meeting. The meeting addressed various issues relating to ground water exploration, monitoring and management, mineral exploration, and management and trend of production of oil and natural gas.
Jindal laid stress on the provision of District Mineral Foundation under Section 9(B) Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 2015 for socio-economic development of the people affected by mining activities.
