GUWAHATI, May 25 - Surachandra Doley, officer in-charge of the Amguri Police Station of Chirang district has been reserve closed from today in connection with the case of assault on a doctor of Amteka Mini PHC and two others on Sunday afternoon.
SP Chirang Sudhakar Singh confirmed that in the preliminary enquiry some dereliction of duty has been found on the part OC, Amguri PS, so he has been sent to reserve and an inquiry is on into the incident.
Dr Madhurjya Kakati, in-charge of the Amteka Mini PHC (under Amguri PS), in Chirang along with a pharmacist and his accountant were beaten and made to kneel down by a police team, for not wearing masks. The incident happened in front of the doctor�s quarter on Sunday afternoon.
