Medicine centre opened

TEZPUR, April 16 - A new centre of the �Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pari Yojana Kendra� was inaugurated at Kanaklata Civil Hospital here by KK Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) recently in presence of Dr Krishna Kemprai, Joint Director of Health Services, Sonitpur, Dr Rini Duarah, Superintendent, Kanakalata Civil Hospital and other hospital staffs of the district hospital. It is notable that the �Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pari Yojana Kendra (PMBJPK)� is a campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses through special kendras known as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra.

Addressing the gathering, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) KK Sharma said that Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana Kendra (PMBJPK) has been set up to provide generic drugs, which are available at an affordable price. �These medicines are equivalent to the quality and efficacy of expensive and branded drugs. The Jan Aushadhi initiative will make quality drugs available at affordable prices,� he said.
