Medical EM visits Hamren hospital

DIPHU, Dec 2 - Moved into action following media reports regarding the dismal condition of Hamren Civil Hospital in West Karbi Anglong, Executive Member (EM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and incharge of the Health & Family Welfare Department Khonsing Rongpi made a sudden visit to the hospital to assess the ground reality.

During his visit, people of the locality appealed to the EM to address issues of the hospital on an urgent basis.

Hamren Mahila Samity along with a section of conscious citizens of Hamren submitted a memorandum to the EM mentioning about the perennial problems faced by them, like absence of gynaecologist, child specialist, medicine specialist, MD, MS, dentist, orthopaedic surgeon, eye specialist, nurses, medicine and ambulance service in the hospital. The memo also mentioned about the necessity of a modern X-ray machine and a pathological laboratory in the hospital.

The aggrieved people also appealed for construction of a proper road upto the hospital since the approach road of the hospital is in a very bad shape.

Executive Member Rongpi assured the people of the locality that their demands will be addressed at the earliest. He also visited the doctors and nurses� quarters, which, too are in a dismal state. Rongpi promised to convey the tax-payers� just demands to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council�s Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang and start developmental works as soon as possible.

He assured that construction work of the 200-bed district hospital will begin soon.
