GUWAHATI, Dec 22 - Media Trust, the State-level journalists� body, has thanked Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the State government for extending financial aid to the next of kin of slain and missing journalists of Assam, stated a press release.

In a statement, Media Trust president Bhadra Krishna Goswami, working president Prasanta Jyoti Baruah and executive trustee Abu Hanifa appealed to the government to help the families of the journalists who have not yet received the financial assistance.

The statement further appealed to the State government to allocate an annual grant to the Media Trust to run the media archive, journalist guest house, media institute, etc. and to include the same in the next Budget allocation.
