DHUBRI, July 29 - The Directorate of Health Services is all set to launch its Measles and Rubella vaccination campaign in Dhubri district from August 6.

However, officials of the District Health Services informed that measles causes cornea-scarring blindness, encephalitis, pneumonia and diarrhoea and rubella virus apart from children can also affect pregnant women leading to spontaneous abortion, stillbirth and serious birth defects. Officials also informed that they would vaccinate about 7,34,083 children between the age group of 9 months to 15 years at 3819 schools and 1994 strategic areas apart from hospitals and health centres.
