GUWAHATI, July 23 - The Rural Women Upliftment Association of Assam (RWUAA) felicitated famous mask artist Dr Hem Chandra Goswami, recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, at a mask making workshop he conducted at the Cotton University here, said a press release.
The workshop, organised by the Department of Assamese of Cotton University, which had begun on July 15, concluded today.
Dr Goswami is actively associated with RWUUA which has been working in mask craft since 1992 at the famous Chamoguri Satra in Majuli.
The students and faculties of the Department of Assamese, Cotton University, some post-graduate students from the Department of Culture, Tezpur University and RWUAA chairman SK Bordoloi Chairman among others attended the felicitation programme, the release added.
