By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 28 Noted director Manju Borahs Dau Huduni Methai Song of the Horned Owl has been selected for screening at Montreal World Film Festival. This Bodo language film which highlights the miseries of a village in the backdrop of growing extremism will be screened at the segment Focus on World Cinema.

This prestigious festival brings together some of the best film and film makers from across the globe.

Produced by Shankarlal Goenka, this film takes a myth from the Bodo society and uses it as a metaphor to intensify the thematic development. According to the myth, exploited man after death transforms into a Hudo (owl) and comes back to his/her home and keeps calling from a tree.

It may be mentioned here that although Bora had planned this film a couple of years back she could not start work on it as she did not find an artiste suitable for the role of the protagonist. Shooting started only when she selected upcoming actress Reshma Mushahary for the role.

The cultural fraternity has hailed this honour for Borah.
