IMPHAL, June 2 Besides promoting medical tourism, Manipur Government is ready to welcome students from neighbouring countries particularly from Myanmar.

During his visit to Myanmar, State Chief Minister O Ibobi had invited Myanmar students to come to Manipur for higher studies.

Minister Okendro also informed that the government is trying to upgrade the schools in the border areas. Expressing the financial constraints of the Education department, the Minister requested the MLAs to share 50 per cent of the local area fund for the development of the school infrastructure in their respective Assembly constituencies.

He further informed that the Education department will frame a transfer policy very soon to ensure rationalisation of posting of teachers in hill and valley districts.
