Manipur virus tally mounts to 22,548

IMPHAL, Nov 19 - With 230 new cases, Manipur�s COVID-19 tally has increased to 22,548 during the last 24 hours, official sources said here today. The cumulative number of virus deaths in the State stands at 231.

In the last 24 hours, there was no report of any death due to the disease, stated Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director of the Manipur Health Department, in a press release. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 229 civilians and one Central Armed Police Forces personnel have been confirmed positive. The new COVID-19 cases were confirmed at various testing facilities in the State. The new cases from the general population belong to 11 districts.

A total of 172 persons were also discharged following recovery in the past 24 hours. The numbers of active and recovered cases are 2,886 and 19,431 respectively. The recovery rate in the State is 83.78 per cent.

As of Thursday, 4,58,899 people have been screened at various entry points into the State, while 3,93,807 individuals have been tested for COVID-19, said officials.
