IMPHAL, Nov 3 Manipur Forest department today said steps are on to safeguard and protect Amur Falcon birds in Tamenglong district which fall in their migratory route.
Weve just concluded some awareness programmes including poster and festoon campaigns in the district, a senior Forest official told The Assam Tribune when contacted on phone. We will also be writing to the district administration to protect and preserve the migratory birds and wildlife, he added.
The step has been taken in view of the report of indiscriminate hunting of Amur Falcons in Tamenglong hill district bordering Assams Cachar
and Haflong area since the last few days.
