Addressing a gathering, the Chief Minister said that security forces should be allowed to perform their duties in a fair manner, adding that there should be no political interference of any form.

Expressing concern over the report of supply of substandard belts, Biren Singh assured all personnel serving in the Manipur Police Department that the present Government would not allow anybody to indulge in such irregularities.

The Chief Minister said that he had discussed the matter with the DGP for the supply of standard uniforms, belts and shoes to the security personnel who are serving in different parts of the State.

Recruitment for two fresh battalions of the IRB is also going on, Biren Singh said, adding that the State Government is putting in the best efforts to conduct the recruitment process in a transparent manner. Personnel found involved in irregularities in the Physical Efficiency Test had been immediately put under suspension, he said.

Stating that many Central paramilitary personnel hailing from different parts of the country are serving here, the Chief Minister added that no personnel or officer would be victimised in matters of transfer, posting and promotion.
