IMPHAL, Oct 17 The Capital project and High Court complex which are under construction in the city will be completed by November, said Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh during an inspection of the sites today.

Asked about the on-going economic blockade on National Highways, Ibobi told reporters that the economic blockade has crossed 78 days and the people both in the valley and hills are facing a hard time due to the agitation.

He appealed to the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee (SHDDC) demanding upgradation of Sadar Hills to a full-fledged district and United Naga Council (UNC), which is spearheading a counter-blockade on the life-line routes of the State to call off the stir and instead take up a democratic form of movement.

Meanwhile, Ibobi Singh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi have consented to inaugurate the Capital project, High Court complex and City Convention building before the next Winter session of the Parliament which is scheduled to begin on December 25.

He also informed that Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi would lay the foundation stone of the proposed NIT building and other projects during their trip. All the adjacent roads connected with the Government establishments in the city have been black- topped and they will be ready ahead of the visit of Prime Minister and Sonia, he added.

The Chief Minister also inspected the work at the site where retaining wall is constructed on the banks of the Nambul river.

Ibobi was accompanied by IFCD Minister N Biren, Works Minister K Ranjit, PDA Chairman Dr Loken and other State officials during the inspection.
