IMPHAL, Dec 23 � Manipur Assembly�s three day-long session concluded with the passing of the Lokayukta Bill 2011 and the Manipur Loktak Lake (Protection) (2nd Amendment) Bill 2011 at the new Manipur Assembly building here on Thursday.
Moving the Lokayukta Bill, Chief Minister O Ibobi said that corruption has become a catchword in every public place in Manipur.
Opposition MLA O Joy of Manipur People�s Party raised strong objection to the provision of seeking prior approval of the State Assembly for investigation into corruption charges against the Chief Minister and argued that such provisions would defeat the very purpose of establishing Lokayukta.
