PATACHARKUCHI, June 17 - Mangaldai MP Dilip Saikia met leading citizens under the �Jana Sampark Abhijan� and sought suggestions to carry forward the party activities. Synchronising with the completion of the 4th year of Sarbananda Sonowal-led government of the State, the MP gave a brief sketch about the developmental works taken by the government.
The new programme is aimed at covering around 50 lakh people in different fields of the State.
Saikia arrived at Patacharkuchi yesterday. He is also in-charge of the programme in the LAC and met party leaders, including Nagen Choudhury, president of Bajali Zila BJP, Phani Pathak, State executive member of the party, members of the Mahila Morcha and workers of the BJP at Patacharkuchi Inspection Bunglow. He visited the house of Amulya Dev Choudhury, a retired teacher and a worker of the party. The MP greeted him with a gamosa and interacted with him about the activities of the present government and requested him to provide suggestions. After that, the MP met Satradhikar Mathura Mohan Goswami and Dharanidhar Goswami, a leading citizen of the locality. He also distributed masks and sanitizers among the mediapersons as a protective measure against COVID-19.
Later addressing the media, the MP said that BJP may field its candidate in Patacharkuchi constituency considering that it is gaining popularity in the constituency. He, however, added that everything will depend on the party leadership. Saikia appealed to the workers to devote themselves for the development of the party.
