GUWAHATI, Feb 15 � Come February 18, Guwahati will witness the biggest Management Convention of Northeast, organised by Guwahati Management Association (GMA), at Royal Group of Institution campus at Betkuchi, opposite Balaji Temple, Guwahati.
In recent years, the Northeast has seen immense growth and development, which now enables management practitioners to give a new dimension and scientific outlook to manage the region in a more effective way. In this regard, GMA is organising the convention on the theme �Managing Northeast � a challenging opportunity�, a release said.
To discuss various issues, from agriculture to education, from financial inclusion for inclusive growth to energy security, from growth and opportunity of SME sector to healthcare, eminent personalities and professionals from these sectors will come together to discuss, debate and plan a way forward for overall economic development of Northeast.
On ways to lift agriculture as the top contributor to GDP, Prof KM Buzarbaruah, Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, will throw more light on this very important issue of Indian economy.
Prof Tapodhir Bhattacharjee, Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, will speak on �Reforming education in general with special emphasis on skill development�.
Nava Kumar Gayan, General Manager of Reserve Bank of India, will speak on �Financial inclusion for more inclusive growth, so as to empower rural population with financial products and educate them on financial nitty gritty.
Pradip Sinha, Director, NEEPCO, will speak on �Energy security in Northeast�.
B Putrkashtya, General Manager of State Bank of India, will speak on �Growth & opportunity of SME sector in this region�. Dr NN Dutta, chairman, Downtown University, will speak on healthcare with emphasis on inclusion.
