SHILLONG, Oct 29 - A schoolteacher was trampled to death by a herd of over 100 elephants in his paddy field at Katuli in Meghalaya�s South-West Garo Hills district, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place when the schoolteacher, Arbingstone Ch Marak, and his son spotted the elephants inside his paddy field munching away his almost ready to harvest paddy on Wednesday. The herd of over 100 elephants had crossed over from neighbouring Bangladesh. � PTI
