TURA, Nov 30 - A 10-year-old girl from Naringgre Chidogittim village under Rongjeng Police Station in East Garo Hills has allegedly been sexually assaulted by a 38-year-old man on multiple occasions.
The case of sexual assault came to light after some boys saw the man, identified as Sparson K Sangma, taking the girl to a nearby forest and attempting to abuse her on November 26. The accused is from the same village and as per the victim, the man had sexually assaulted her on several occasions.
The parents of the victim filed a case of rape against the man on November 26. According to sources, Sangma had on several occasions threatened the girl against disclosing his act to anyone. Sangma has been arrested and a case has been registered in this regard.
