MORIGAON, April 16 - In a sensational case, a father murdered his own son and subsequently committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
According to police sources, one Surendra Das (49) a villager of Chatonguri village under Morigaon PS killed his 11-year-old son, Mahesh Das, in the wee hours yesterday and kept the body in a ditch dug in their field. Afterwards, Surendra committed suicide hanging himself from a tree. The police further disclosed that Surendra was a convict and he had completed a 10-year jail term just two months back in connection with another murder case of the village. The cause of the murder of his own son and subsequent suicide of the murderer is yet to be ascertained.
