JORHAT, Aug 29 - Rajijul Haq, a 40-year-old who was declared a foreigner several years ago by the Foreigners Tribunal, Jorhat, was arrested by police of the Border branch from Netaji Nagar area of Rajamaidam in Jorhat and sent to a foreigners detention camp at the Central Jail here.
A source from the border police branch said Haq, who was declared a foreigner by the Tribunal in 2006, was absconding since then. Haq reportedly is from Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district.
The source further said that more than 5,000 people declared foreigners by the Tribunal in Jorhat were absconding.
