IMPHAL, Aug 26 - A man was arrested for allegedly uploading objectionable pictures of a girl on the social media and a pistol and ammunition were recovered from his residence.
The man was arrested from Lilong Chajing locality in Thoubal district on Thursday, police said.
The police and the cyber crime unit were looking for the man ever since a complaint was lodged by the girl.
The police yesterday spotted the person in the vicinity of his residence. But he fled seeing the police personnel. He was arrested after the police chased and overpowered him.
During investigation, it was learnt that the man had hidden one 9mm pistol and a few live rounds of ammunition at his residence. They were recovered by the police.
A case has been registered at Irilbung police station in Imphal East district. � PTI
