SILCHAR, June 12 - Following mounting pressure, Imdad Hussain who is alleged to have sparked communal disharmony among people in Silchar with his controversial posts and anti-religious comments in the social media, surrendered before the Cachar police on Sunday afternoon.
According to police sources, Imdad was arrested later under case number 1228/17 under Section 295 A/109/507/209 read with Section 66 of the IT Act.
It may be mentioned here that communal clash erupted in Silchar on June 6 following a post on Facebook by Imdad over an inter-religious marriage.
