Mamoni shifted to Gurgaon hospital

GUWAHATI, Feb 19 � Author and Jnanpith winner Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami was today shifted from the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) to Medanta-The Medicity, one of the country�s largest multi-super specialty institutes located in Gurgaon near New Delhi.

Dr Goswami was taken out of the GMCH around 1-45 pm and left in a Delhi-bound air ambulance from the LGB International Airport at 3-45 pm.

The shifting from the GMCH to the airport was done by a Mrityunjoy-108 ambulance team which included doctors and emergency technicians. She was provided ventilation support in the ambulance and her condition constantly monitored.

The State Government will bear the entire cost of Dr Goswami�s treatment. Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma also visited her at the GMCH before she left for Delhi.

Our Special Correspondent from New Delhi adds: Noted author Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami has been admitted to Medanta � The Medicity at around 9 pm, as a team of experts headed by reputed cardiac surgeon Dr. Naresh Trehan has been constituted.

Dr Trehan told reporters that he had gone through the health reports of Dr Goswami and found that she is suffering from multi-lateral pneumonia.

Medanta � The Medicity is a multi-super specialty institutes located in Gurgaon, in the National Capital Region (NCR). It has been founded by eminent cardiac surgeon, Dr. Naresh Trehan.
