SHILLONG, Feb 23 (PTI) � Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Ajay Maken will kick off a �Youth to the edge�, a tour and live-in programme of the youths, in Assam next week.
The programme, aimed at bringing 2,000 youths together from across India, will take the youths to villages, where they will stay and eat to introduce them to the roots of NE culture.
�The tour and live-in programme will involve NSS participants from the region and across India in which they will go to locations in the NE and learn basic culture, tradition and also to promote tourism,� an officials of North Eastern Council (NEC) said.
The official said, Maken will kick off the programme from Tinsukia on February 29 adding that the following day the youth participants will head to Nagaland-Manipur border and to Arunachal Pradesh.
